The Government has given us money for children who are eligible for Free School Meals or who are “looked after” i.e. in care, to take part in additional out of school activities.  If your child qualifies and they attend one of the Selby schools involved in the pilot (listed below) and they would like to take part in an activity, all you need to do is contact Selby Extended Services or the contact person at your child’s school who will help you to complete an application form. This scheme is available to all schools in the Selby District area from 1st April 2010.
Information sessions for schools who will be included from April took place in March 2010.
If you are eligible for Free School Meals but are not claiming them you could miss out. Claiming Free School meal also helps increase your schools funding.
