Some of the services we are most recognised for: The ‘Get out & About’ activity booklet A large selection of activities every school holiday for children, young people and families Family Learning activities in schools & communities (Animals in Tuition, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Pots 4U2Do, Julaine crafts & Minster Falconry) Yearly Playday Event at Selby Community Centre Work with High Schools to provide additional holiday and after school activities to support children moving from year 6 to year 7. Some Services we are less well know for: Supports schools with links to local information, advice and support services, so information can be passed to parents/carers on request Supporting schools in accessing additional funding Supporting schools with links to local activity providers in order for them to provide additional after school clubs, also ensure all are have the necessary insurances and qualifications. Working with local community centres/halls to raise funds for improvements. Provide schools with up to date information on the Adult Learning opportunities available in the area for promote in school newsletters. Negotiate with local Adult Learning and activity providers to deliver their courses/workshops in schools/communities in our area if consultation has shown a local need. Provide information and Support schools in accessing local and national initiatives ( home access laptops, MEND programme) Make regular visits to schools to ensure they have the necessary information and are providing as many of the services at school as possible. Work with Selby Area Children’s centres to produce and distribute regular information newsletters to all families in Selby. |
