Extended Services work on a number of projects at any one time but the area we are most recognised for are the activities for children, young people and families in the holidays and weekends as well as activities in High Schools that support young people moving from year 6 to year 7.

As the funding for Extended Services will be reduced over the next 12 months we  now charge a small fee in order that we can continue to offer an exciting stimulating choice for as long as possible. All monies taken are put back in to Extended Services to provide other activities.

Another area we are supporting schools with is access to activities by Family Learning. This is an activity where children and their parents/carers can learn together. These are fun friendly workshops that help parents/carers to remain engaged with their child’s learning and are great ways of making the whole family welcome in schools, improving transition for new starters as well as building relationships between schools and parents/carer. Extended Services have sourced funding for these activities to date, but we are hoping schools can see the benefits of providing additional sessions themselves in the future. Pottery, Cookery, arts and crafts, sport and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust visits are just a few we have done so far (pictures in the gallery).
